The "2024 Zhejiang-Taiwan Cooperation Week" sub-venue "Cross-Strait Digital Economy and Industry Matchmaking Conference" was held in Hangzhou on the afternoon of the 12th. Chiu Chaucer, chief representative of Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association, said in his speech that the Association is committed to promoting the "cross-strait digital economic circle", and will strengthen the industrial docking with Hangzhou and the surrounding areas, and jointly explore 5G, Internet and artificial intelligence, so that more Taiwanese start-up teams can enter the broader mainland market.

The "2024 Zhejiang-Taiwan Cooperation Week" was held in Zhejiang from 12 to 15, and the Hangzhou branch matchmaking meeting focused on Hangzhou's digital economy and industrial policies and development opportunities, aiming to deepen the connection between Hangzhou and Taiwan in the digital economy and industry, and cultivate a new highland for the integration and development of the core industries of the digital economy on both sides of the strait. More than 150 people attended the meeting, including the Federation of Industry and Industry of Taiwan, Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association, and the heads of the All-China Federation of Taiwan Enterprises in the mainland, the Taiwan Merchants and Taiwan Enterprises Special Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Association for the Promotion of Maritime Affairs, and representatives of entrepreneurs and experts from both sides of the strait.

Chiu Chaucer, Chief Representative of Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association in mainland China and General Manager of Inventec Group (Beijing) Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., said in his speech that the Association is committed to promoting the "Cross-Strait Digital Economy Circle", which can allow more Taiwanese start-up teams to enter the mainland market, strengthen industrial docking with Hangzhou and surrounding areas, promote talent exchange and training, jointly explore 5G, Internet and artificial intelligence, and promote the implementation of cooperation projects between enterprises in the fields of smart city and intelligent manufacturing.

On the issue of how to build a cross-strait digital economic circle and how Taiwan and the mainland can complement each other's advantages, Chiu further said in an interview with this newspaper after the meeting that from the perspective of infrastructure construction, because the mainland is limited by Sino-US competition, Taiwan will be more advanced in computing power, but the mainland has also developed its own set of digital infrastructure, so although the hardware is difficult to compatible, through the Internet hierarchical connection, it can help Taiwan enterprises with computing power and soft power to obtain a broader market.

Minth Group, which produces auto parts, cooperated with the Management Committee of Hangzhou Airport Economic Demonstration Zone to sign a contract to build a "Digital Intelligence Manufacturing Park". Qin Ronghua, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Minth Holdings, Vice Chairman of the Taiwan Federation of Industry and Industry, and Executive Vice President of the All-China Federation of Taiwan Enterprises, said frankly in his speech that the digital industrial park is not his own business, but because Hangzhou has "worked very hard" to attract investment, and the measures are "grounded", so there is this cooperation.

He also shouted to Taiwanese businessmen, "We must use the local market, talents, energy, and raw materials to make money back, and at the same time, the other party can also have employment and economic development, and the whole world can develop."

Hangzhou Mayor Yao Gaoyuan said in his speech that Taiwan has comparative advantages in the fields of integrated circuits, precision machinery, and biotechnology, and the in-depth cooperation between the two sides of the strait in the digital economy and industry has strong momentum, large space, and good prospects. He hoped that this event could provide Taiwan businessmen and enterprises with broader resource channels and better platform services for investment and business.

The event also introduced the policies and platforms of Hangzhou's digital economy industry, Binjiang District Internet of Things Industrial Zone and Hangzhou Airport Economic Demonstration Zone. The establishment of the Hangzhou branch of Fubon Bank, a Taiwan-funded bank, plans to complete the signing at the opening ceremony of the cooperation week on the morning of the 12th, and a ceremony to extend a credit of 5 billion yuan to Taiwan-funded enterprises in Hangzhou will be held at the matchmaking meeting.
